As a joint effort between Backyard Bookkeeper and Blue Sky Business Consulting, Step One is a community of entrepreneurs dedicated to helping each other pursue the dream of financial freedom and independence through entrepreneurship. With over 60 years of combined business experience, our two companies are joining forces and sharing our knowledge and experience to help new entrepreneurs accelerate their speed to success.

Where to begin?

"Step One" is a business success community. Julie, Alex, and Shawn, the three partners, will provide content and facilitate the community. Purpose: The purpose of the community is to help business owners succeed by providing information and support. Passion: Julie is passionate about simplifying business operations for owners, Alex wants to remove the excuse of "not having money" to start a business, and Shawn enjoys helping businesses from their initial setup to thriving success. Community Structure: We hold weekly Zoom calls with a business-related topic followed by open discussion. The meetings will be recorded and made available in a library. Members are encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences. Topics: The weekly Zoom calls will cover subjects that are useful and relevant to business owners, such as getting the first sale, marketing, managing finances, business resilience, setting financial goals, and more. Success in the Community: To succeed in the community, members should participate in weekly calls, complete action items, and ask questions. Collaboration is better than competition!
